FOOTBALL fans are being given the chance to lead their very own dream team to World Cup glory.

The free Crown Trade Fantasy Football competition provides an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of the beautiful game during the forthcoming tournament in Brazil.

Select your squad from the countries taking part and, if your players perform, there’s a chance to win some fantastic prizes.

Pit your wits against players from all over the UK or take on friends and colleagues in a mini league of your own during the battle to be crowned overall winner.

The competition is open to all customers of Crown Trade, including merchants, decorators, contractors, specifiers, architects and end-users.

Registration opens on Monday, May 12.

There are prizes to be won throughout the World Cup competition with a football shirt of the winner’s choice awarded to the manager with the most points each week.

The manager whose team top the overall table at the end of the World Cup will get to enjoy a city break of his or her choice up to the value of £2,000.

With the chance to make transfers once the tournament gets underway, it’s a test of skill and judgement that will help keep football fans on the edge of their seats right to the very end of the month-long competition.

Debbie Orr, Crown Paints’ Marketing Manager, said: “The World Cup in Brazil promises to be a fantastic spectacle and excitement will reach fever pitch as we get closer to the start of the tournament.

“Our new fantasy game will give football fans the chance to feel involved in the action themselves.

“We’re sure it will create some added interest for armchair fans watching events unfold at home.

“There’ll be some unbelievable players on show, but managers will have to pick their team very carefully and then judge when and where to make changes.

“There’s a lot of skill involved, along with an element of luck, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.”

Entrants will use a fantasy budget to pick their team of real-life players at the World Cup, which starts on June 12, and points will be scored based on their performances.

They’ll choose one of seven possible formations with a maximum of four players from any country and teams will be able to make transfers during the tournament

Register your squad and see all rules, terms and conditions at from Monday, May 12.
